Synopsis
Daniel Nash struggles to reconcile his feelings of betrayal with his desire to understand his life. His hopes of uncovering the secrets revealed in his father’s journals are quickly dashed, and he works with a private investigator to discover the truth. Worry about his wife, Sarah, combines with his efforts to cope with his childhood trauma, an unexpected death, and the recent revelations. His obsession with the past threatens to destroy his stable life. Meanwhile, Sarah and her father, Tristan, continue to combat the lingering discord that developed between them years before but refuse to take their main focus from Daniel. As he reviews his biological father’s efforts to be a good man, Daniel searches for a way to comprehend shocking disclosures. He questions his own goodness as he fights not to emotionally withdraw from those around him, especially the two people he knows will always love him, Sarah and Tristan.

excerpt “Grandma Lillian and I were talking about swimming, ‘cause Amanda goes to a pool in her own backyard. Amanda says her daddy doesn’t wear a shirt in the water. I asked Grandma how come you never take your shirt off, and she said that you had another daddy before Grandpa Max and that he hurt you a lot. Will he come and hurt me, too?” Lowering himself onto the edge of the bed, Daniel said soothingly, “Never, Kris. He wasn’t my real daddy, and I haven’t talked to him in over twenty years.” “Why did he hurt you?” “Because he was a very bad man.” “You would never hurt me, would you?” Daniel swallowed the lump in his throat that threatened to choke him. He was trying rather unsuccessfully to swallow the anger that was about to render him speechless. “Never, ever.” “Is it really terrible on your tummy? Is that why you don’t want people to see?” Kris persisted. “Does it still have pain?” “If I don’t exercise, then my body hurts. I have scars, like when you cut your lip and it made a scar. Understand?” “Can I see your scars?” “Maybe when you’re older.” “Did you cry when you got hurt?” “Yes, I did.” Kris pulled the covers up around his neck and asked, “Will you and Mommy stay with me until I go to sleep?” “Sure.” “Are the windows and the doors locked?” “Yes,” Daniel said firmly. “You’re perfectly safe.” The combination of the decongestant and the Tylenol took affect within minutes. The moment Daniel was certain Kris was sleeping, he leapt from the bed and stalked towards the front of the house. Sarah darted out after him, moving quickly but quietly in an attempt to keep up with her husband. “Daniel, wait!” “I’ll be at Lillian’s.” He hadn’t been this enraged about anything since he’d been a child. He drove too quickly and too recklessly all the way to the house. Screeching to a halt in the driveway, Daniel parked and wrenched the key from the ignition. Jumping out, he slammed the car door behind him and stormed to the back door. In his anger, it took him three tries to insert the key into the keyhole. Finally, he unlocked the door and charged into the kitchen, just as Lillian flicked on the lights. “Daniel! What on earth?” “Why did you do it?” he cried, as tears of frustration and rage welled up in his eyes. “You had no right to tell Kris about my scars!” Lillian asked calmly, “What was I supposed to do? Lie? I thought you were upset that we lied to you before.” “He’s five years old! He’s too young to even comprehend what happened and why!” “You tell me what I could have said,” she retorted belligerently. Daniel was dumbfounded. This was not his mother talking. This was insanity. “You could have told him I get sunburned easily on my shoulders,” he replied evenly. “You could have told him everybody has a different way of doing things.” “That wouldn’t be the truth.” “Goddamn motherfucking son of a bitch! Do you remember what the truth is, Lillian?” His fingers tore at the buttons of his shirt. “Do you?” “Daniel! Don’t you use language like that! Don’t you take the Lord’s name in vain!” Flinging his shirtfront wide, Daniel yelled, “Do you remember this, Mom? You think Kris needs to know about this kind of horror and fear at his age? Damn you for taking his sense of security away!” He ran from the house, his shirt unbuttoned, his feet thudding on the concrete steps. When he got to the Mazda, he roughly twisted the key in the ignition then sped back down the long drive that extended to Highland Road. A half a mile away, he pulled into the empty parking lot of the Victorian Doll Mansion and shut off the engine. Then, he pounded the steering wheel until the side of his hand throbbed. Raw and shaken, Daniel drove home.

Thanks Wanda for having me stop by and share my latest release SAIL AWAY WITH ME. I’m an erotic romance writer and an avid reader. Aside from the wide range of erotic romance I enjoy, from erotica to sexy romance, I have some favorite books that are mainstream fiction or even non-fiction that I’d like to share with you today. Maybe they’ll become your new favorites!
Some of my favorites:
Tatiana & Alexander by Paulina Simmons (fiction, a three book series starting with the Bronze Horseman, set in Russia during the first world war.)
Life and death in Shanghai by Cheng Nien (non fiction, read this first time almost twenty years ago and still remember it clearly, made quite an impact. I reread it every once in a while, now that’s a good book.
Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon (fiction, historical romance, but it’s so much more than that. Start with Outlander and work your way through the series, you won’t be disappointed.)
The Sea Will Tell by Vincent Bugliosi (non-fiction, true crime. I love this book, not sure if it’s because I spent time bare boating around similar waters or if it’s just just a chilling tale of true crime told by a master prosecutor.)
The Paris series by Juliette Sobanet (fiction, romance, and a new favorite of mine. Chocolat, only better. 
A Good Year by Peter Mayle (fiction, I love all his Year in Provence books but this one is a heart stealer. Love the movie too, nothing to with Russell Crowe playing the hero  )
The Accidental Bestseller by Wendy Wax (fiction. I think the reason I liked this so much is because it was about writers, getting away on a “writing retreat” with all the intricacies of friendship and the drama of real life).

One bite was all it took.
It’s that time of year again. Alyssa Blakely is busy writing in her fantasy diary, filling it with all her forbidden, sexual fantasies. The star: her very sexy boss, Devin Jordan. Too bad for her, he’s never given her a second glance.
Or so she thought…
After a steamy kiss under the mistletoe and a night of wild sex, Alyssa has the bite to prove just how wrong she was.
Devin Jordan has found his mate. The only problem: she’s human. He’s not. Can he prove to her that his inner beast can be both naughty and nice? Or will her fear of the unknown keep him from claiming her?

Christmas Fantasy Excerpt
Devin took a deep, calming breath. Alyssa was off limits. Even if she were single and interested in him, he still couldn’t have her. It was too risky. She made him feel things he wasn’t used to. He didn’t know if he could handle touching her without hurting her.
Hurting Alyssa was something he would never do. He would just have to endure her presence. He would take pleasure in the shy smiles she cast his way every now and again. He would enjoy the laughs they shared while working late some evenings. He would maintain the professional relationship they had, even though he yearned for a taste of her.
Devin turned and placed his back against the window. He stared at the door that separated him from the woman he desired. A piece of metal and space was all that separated his body from hers. It would only take a couple of strides for him to reach the door.
One pull on the door knob and he could send it flying across the room. Then he would be face to face with the one woman in this world that made him wish he wasn’t a beast with a conscience. If he had no conscience, he would take her, now, against his desk, against her desk, against the wall, on every damn hard surface in this building.
He would make sure she enjoyed it. He would make sure he pleased her so thoroughly that she wouldn’t even think of leaving him, even when she found out that he was not the man he pretended to be. Devin sighed, but that would never happen. Because though he was a beast, he did indeed have a conscience
That conscience kept her safe from him… for now.
Review:  I really enjoyed this book. The story line was easy to follow and very believable. The author did a great job of sucking me in and was left wanting more. This story was very steamy and I want to know what happens to all the brothers.

Book Blurb/Synopsis –
Twas the night before Christmas and Lily Parks has every intention of having her name on Santa’s naughty list.
Tired of her good girl image, Lily Parks is determined to let her wildest fantasies free, even if it is just for one night. She plans a night of seduction – the only thing missing is her ex-husband Charles and his lover, Paul. She wants them both and she knows just how to get them.
Charles Henderson is surprised when he receives a call from his ex-wife inviting him and his partner to Christmas dinner, but he can’t deny that her threesome idea is the greatest Christmas present ever. After one night of ecstasy with the two people he loves, he’s determined to make this arrangement permanent.
Can the three of them make this love triangle work, or will jealousy destroy the attraction they all feel for one another?

Lily’s Naughty Christmas Excerpt
“Can you lock the door behind you?” she called to them over her shoulder. She heard the lock click. Time for the games to begin.
“Where are the other chairs?” Charles asked when he entered the kitchen.
“There are only three of us tonight, so we only need three chairs,” Lily told him. He raised his eyebrow but said nothing as he sat in the chair across from her.
“Can you pour me a glass of champagne before you sit down, Paul?” Lily asked her ex-husband’s lover.
Paul was in the middle of sitting down beside Charles when Lily popped her question. He froze, looking from Charles to Lily.
“Uh, sure,” Paul said. “You want some more, buddy?”
“Yeah, whatever,” Charles responded.
Lily smiled. Charles was uncomfortable, she liked that. “If you want something stronger I have vodka in the cabinet. You forgot to take it with you when you left.”
Paul filled her glass with champagne then sat down. Charles stood up and walked over to the cabinet, pulling a bottle of Grey Goose out. He filled his wine glass with the clear liquid. Lily smiled as he drank it down with one gulp then refilled the glass. At this rate he would be drunk before they even began.
Lily stood up and walked over to the stove. “Let me serve you two.”
Behind her both men coughed, choking on their beverages. Lily took the lid off the pot containing the dressing.
“It smells good Lily, thanks for having us over.” Charles voice sounded a bit strained but not strained enough.
“You’re welcome.” Lily walked over to her ex and bent over him to pick up his plate. Her breasts were right in his face, her ass right in Paul’s face. She picked up the plate and took it to the counter and began filling it with dressing, turkey, greens and candied yams.
She carried Charles his plate. “Enjoy,” she whispered before picking up Paul’s plate and filling it. When she was done serving both men she returned to her seat and began to drink from her glass.
“You’re not going to eat?” Charles asked around a mouthful of food.
Soon his mouth would be full of her. Lily shivered, and both men stopped eating. They stared at her.
“If I don’t watch this figure, no one will,” Lily told them. She took another sip of her drink, enjoying the way she had them squirming in their seats.
This whole seduction thing was easier than she thought. Lily licked her lips. Paul swallowed. Charles stared down into his plate. If Lily wanted a threesome she was going to have to make the first move.
“You two should hurry up with your dinner, I have a present for the two of you in my bedroom.”
Lily stood up. She pushed her chair under the table and grabbed her glass.
“I’ll be waiting,” she whispered before she turned and sashayed away. Her whole body trembled with nervousness. She’d done her part, she’d put the offer on the table. It was now up to them to pick it up and run with it.
Lily walked upstairs to her room. She sat her glass on her nightstand and pulled her dress over her head. She had to wiggle a bit to get the tight-fitting garment off. Lily put her dress back on a hanger and hung it in the closet. She sat on her bed and resumed sipping her drink. All she could do now was wait for them to join her.
Review: I thought the writing was great but I could just not get into the story. It seemed a little off for me that someone who was left for someone else would just jump right into having a relationship with the EX and their new partner. This story was very steamy and I did like the fact that they didn't choose based on sex but on attraction.

Frustrated at being fired from her latest job and overwhelmed by her consolatory family, Sam decides to move to the family’s cabin at the lake. A place she hasn’t been since her dad committed suicide there twenty years before. Or did he? Snooping is something she’s good at but someone seems to be taking offence to her looking too closely at what has been happening at the lake. What she discovers is shocking. Now she must uncover what’s real and what’s not. All that she learned growing up, may be false. Keegan, who has recently moved to the area, to finish his latest book is also trying to find out if his grandfather, who’d passed away ten years before, died of natural causes or was murdered? The descendants of the four families who own the land around the lagoon are dying off. Since Sam and Keegan are the only ones questioning the deaths, they find themselves working together to seek the truth. Are people being murdered? Who would benefit from their deaths? Why would there be barricades and armed guards at the north end of the lake? To stay alive, Sam and Keegan must find the answers and convince others, before more people are killed... including them.

"Thom’s book was like one of my Nana’s triple layered chocolate cakes, impossible to walk away from without licking the plate."

Maggie Thom's Bio

Maggie Thom made the hard decision to freefall, leaving her successful, twenty year career in management, to follow her dream and passion to write full time. The leap has been adventurous and very enlightening. A long-time reader and writer, she was thrilled with the release of her first novel, Captured Lies in the fall of 2012 and her second novel, Tainted Waters released April 30th, 2013. She is busy writing her third novel, Deceitful Truths to be published late 2013 or early 2014. Having married her best friend, she is learning that humor, love and patience, help her navigate her way through her twins’ teen years.

“We have to report it.”
“And how are we going to say we found it. We just happened to be snooping ourselves when someone came and ransacked the place. Oh yeah and by the way he was wearing a black baseball cap and he had a great, no let me correct that, a verrrryyyyyy gooooooddddd body.”
“We don’t even know it was him. Why would he come back and rip the place apart. If he was looking for something, why not the first time he was here?” She glared at him as he grabbed her arm and pulled her outside. She jerked out of his grasp.
“Maybe it wasn’t him but that doesn’t mean I want to stick around and see if he comes back.”
“Just let me look around and see if I can tell what they took. You watch for vehicles.”
The mulish look on his face let her know he didn’t like the plan but he wasn’t going to stop her. She waited until he was in place watching the driveway, then she kicked off her shoes and entered. Books from the shelves were strewn about, some of them even ripped in half. Newspapers had been taken from her neat stack of recycling and were torn up, shredded. The couch had been flipped, the lamp overturned and the stuffing had been ripped out of the pillows. The place looked like a bunch of wild animals had been locked in and had gone berserk looking for food or a way out. The scene brought tears to her eyes. It just wasn’t right. Mrs. MacNeil never hurt anyone.
She stepped forward carefully trying to avoid any broken glass. She lifted some of the debris off the floor to see if there was anything under it. It sounded super noisy to her every time she moved. Every few seconds she was glancing over her shoulder to make sure that no one was there.
It didn’t make sense. All she could think was don’t let it be one of her children.
“Come on. Let’s get out of here. This isn’t worth it. Let’s go.”
With one last look around she reluctantly walked out the door, locking it behind her. Not caring that he saw her, she opened the panel under the deck and slid the spare key onto the hidden nail. Obviously someone had their own set anyway. That thought made her nervous. She only knew of a handful of people who had the key to that place.
“Your place or mine?”
It was too much to take in. She couldn’t respond she just headed off through the trees to the path. He followed but they continued on in silence, accompanied by the shrill tweets and chirps of birds as they headed to her family’s cabin. When they reached the end point of the lake, the path swung back towards the pond, allowing them a clear view for a short while. It made her think of her phone. It had vibrated earlier when they’d left Keegan’s and were walking along the lake. Curious as to who called, she pulled it out. There was a missed call and a text. They were from DD.
M :( u.
Sam knew that to mean Shelley was mad at her. Listening to her message she understood why. Taking a chance that DD still had the cell phone she quickly dialled her brother’s number.
“Asaaaaaaam. Asaaaaammmmmm. Aaaaaasssssaaaaaaaaaammmmmm.” DD started blubbering out stuff that Sam couldn’t understand.
“Ssssshhhh. Stop. Ssshhhh. I need you to stop.” Sam repeated this a few more times, speaking softly. DD finally snivelled, indicating she was calmer now.
“You sound funny. What’s up?”
“Cold.”
“You’re cold... oh you have a cold.” Oh no. No wonder Shelley had a bee in her butt.

“Mom’s mad. Said your fault. I can’t see you.” She started to cry, a loud wailing sound. Sam winced, sure that it would make things worse.

Excerpt
He slid his wet lips to the inside of her knees, kissing and sucking. She arched her back, feeling hot and flustered. She wanted... She wanted...
“Oh David,” she moaned. “Please, please.”
“What do you want Shania?” he asked. His lips moved higher, kissing her right butt cheek, then her left. Then she felt a sharp pain. She tensed, bowing off the bed, tension filling her muscles. He bit her ass and bit her again, right where he had kissed. He gently licked the spots, soothing the pain. “Remember what I told you, Shania?” he asked. “A little pain and a lot of pleasure—hand in hand they go.”
Shania was beyond thinking or remembering. She could only feel. When she felt his tongue on her pussy, she stiffened. He licked from back to front.
“You should taste how sweet you are Shania,” he murmured as he gently sucked her clit into his mouth. Slowly he worked her peak with his tongue, increasing the suction as he slid a finger into her opening.
“Oh my God, David…Oh! Oh! I don’t know …David I want…”
“Let go Shania,” David said softly as he inserted a second finger into her hot little sheath. He began to scissor his fingers then curled and touched a spot she did not even know existed. Shania exploded!” Lights flashed and stars appeared. She shattered into a million pieces and fell forward on the bed oblivious to anything around her.

Character Bios
Shania was a Kentucky girl, raised in horse country, with racing in her blood and spirit in her soul. She set her sights on David at an early age, and had never wavered. He was her destiny... at least she thought so.
David was a blend. Born in Texas, his roots were there no matter where he went. It was his solace, his place of restoration and peace. Kentucky was his second home though. He had spent more years in Versailles, KY than anywhere else in the world. He launched his business in Louisville, KY, and it was where he returned home to the people who loved him. He had always known the Ridgeways loved him, but passion was a whole different kind of emotion for him. He didn't know how to love like that. He had truly never belonged to anyone. He wasn't sure if he was capable of loving her. Stephan was a Greek. He spent his whole life in that small, yet powerful part of the world. He wanted Shania from the time he first saw her, but his job was to protect her and guide her. How could he make the transition from employee to lover? Antonio was a loyal company executive... or so Jack thought. He was Greek, but had spent most of his live traveling the world at the helm of the ship building division of Ridgeway, Inc. He owed the Ridgeway family a lot, and he always paid his debts. Jack was a Kentucky boy, Shania's brother, and David's best friend. He had been raised side by side with David, who, although never formally adopted by the Ridgeways, had been like a brother to him. He headed up the family empire now that his father had retired. He and his wife, Josslyn, lived in Louisville.

Excerpt: When it all comes down to it, there’s only one thing to get a man like Brad for his birthday. A man that has everything, can buy anything, and wants for nothing. Either a) something he has been deprived of, or b) something he could never have too much of. I doubt Brad has been deprived of much of anything his entire life. Love. He hasn’t had enough love. It is something I see at odd times, times when he cradles my face in his hand and a flicker of worry goes through his eyes. He, at those moments, reveals how terrified he is of losing me. I don’t know how to package love, how to giftwrap that emotion and hand it to Brad. I tell him often, as often as I can. But I know that the more in love he falls, the more afraid he is that I will leave. That I will turn into his mother and choose another reality over this one. I have committed to him. That should be enough of a reassurance. Hmm… So b) something he could never have too much of. Sex. Brad has always been in control of our sexual adventures. It is part of the turn-on for me, the willing handover of my body, unknowing of what he has in store for it. But I wanted something more for his birthday, something other than me, naked and willing, waiting for his command. My mind flickered back to deprivement. He has been deprived of something, for eight months now. Another woman. We had ventured into the water, spending one hot night with a blonde, Brad bringing her hours of pleasure without actually fucking her. He had to miss it, had to miss the domination of another woman with his cock, seeing the look in her eyes when he thrust it in, the shock and incredulity as it turned from too much to too perfect. It was time. Since that night, I had waffled and wishy-washied my way back and forth over the line of indecision until my head spun like a drunk coed. But the thought always made me hot, always pushed me over the edge when Brad’s head was between my legs or he was buried deep in me. The pleasure he gave me, the incredible heights and depths he brought me to, were too incredible for me not to share – it seemed unfair for me to keep this wealth of sexual knowledge contained solely for my pleasure. When I was with Brad and the Russian - I had loved every minute of the experience, as limited as it was. But to see him inside a woman, to see his thrusts and her moans, his hands gripping her skin, his mouth on hers – the thought was almost too intense to process. During sex, I would get snapshot images, entering uninvited, into my mind, and my back would involuntarily arch, my orgasm no longer containable, and my world would turn black in a moment of exquisite perfection. How would I react in that actual situation? When he spread her legs, touched her body? When I saw that look on his face, the look of lust and ownership, the same look that sent me over the edge, the look I strove for, fucked for, and did anything and everything to provoke? How would I take it, and what if he needed more of it? Would I really be giving him a birthday present? Or was this just one, big, sex-filled test of our relationship?
